Artist Statement
Each new project or painting represents a different set of challenges. I can say that my work is based on seeing and then creating shapes regardless of the subject of scale of the project. I like to break up the wall or canvas space into separate areas using linear lines, different images, colors, etc. At first, I may want the viewer to focus on one specific area but then to view the image as a whole. I work on finding the best composition by shifting, editing and juxtaposing key components searching for the right placement. My personal creed is to simplify whenever possible and find order out of chaos.
Creating is a very independent pursuit. It can be exciting, intriguing, frustrating and daunting all at the same time and that's the fascination. Every project creates a new and unique relationship between you and the piece.
